Friday Introductions: Meet PR Dog Mom!

Hi everyone,

This is my first Friday introduction and I wanted to take the time to answer a few personal questions. Just to give a little background, I’m 26 and living in Northern Virginia. I am a recent dog mom to a 5 month old lab/plott hound mix puppy and it’s been quite the adventure so far. This blog is a way to share my experiences as a dog mom while also exploring my love of PR. Thanks for stopping by!

I’d love to hear your answers to these questions in the comments below!

What one accomplishment are you most proud of?

My dream of working in Washington, D.C. At one time, it seemed like an impossible goal. My fiancé and I were not in the best place financially when my new job happened and moving from PA to VA was more expensive than we thought. The first month was extremely tight. I sold clothes and purses to a local Plato’s Closet for quick money to make ends meet. We pulled through and made it happen. It was the toughest time of our lives, but I am so proud of us for getting through it. Our relationship grew stronger and we grew as adults out on our own.

Describe your first car. Pros? Cons?

My first car was a 2005 red Chevy Cobalt. It was super cheap and had a ton of miles on it. Bare bones everything. I will never take automatic windows, locks, and lights for granted. Pros were that it did not require a ton of upkeep and my dad is an auto mechanic so it came in handy. However, near the end, the exhaust and other things were more expensive than the car to fix so I had to say goodbye to Colby the Cobalt. I leased a 2016 Toyota Corolla S one year ago and couldn’t be happier.

Share something funny or endearing about your pet.

Harley Quinn Myers, AKA Harley, is one of the calmest dogs I’ve ever encountered and I do not say this lightly. Maybe it’s the hound side of her. Sure she has energy spurts (because she’s 5 months old), but for a puppy she’s amazingly chill which makes our jobs easier as puppy parents. Also, she is afraid of her own woof. She hates barking. She rarely does it and when it happens, it’s almost involuntary. One bark and she’s done. We live on the first floor of our building so when we have the blinds drawn we can see our neighbors taking their dogs to the bathroom right in front of our window. She sees them every day and barely reacts. Honestly, she’s more vocal when we don’t pay attention to her and she makes herself known.

What’s on your guilty pleasure watchlist?

BIG. LITTLE. LIES. I’m obsessed and it’s a problem. Also, I now own the book so I’m excited to read the original storyline.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’d love to live in Oregon, Washington or Colorado. For someone who is not an adventurous person, I can still appreciate the views. I already got my dream of moving to Virginia so that’d be next if my fiancé and I could swing it.

What will you never give up on?

My relationship and future marriage. Also, on friends in need. Plain and simple.

What makes you laugh the most?

My funny fiancé and adorable pupper. Their antics always keep me laughing.
