Serious question: did Starbucks mean to play a cruel joke on all of us? Not even the likes of Katy Perry could handle more than one sip of this not-so-tasty “treat.”
Just for kicks, my friend Kali and I tried the Unicorn Frappuccino this past Thursday from a Starbucks in downtown DC. It was just plain nasty – and I do not use that word lightly. A couple of ways to describe it would be as a reporter from the Washington Post wrote, “sour birthday cake,” or as I like to call it, a raspberry DumDum lollipop. I’m sure unicorns taste better than this. Give them a little credit, Starbucks! End rant.
We each took about four sips or so (just to get our money’s worth) and promptly discarded the frap. The blue icing you’ll notice on top of the whipped cream was by far the worst part. It was as sour as Warhead candy. Remember those from childhood?
The bottom line is this: just don’t do it to yourself.
Tomorrow is the last day the drinks are available so there’s just one day left to try it for yourself!
Have you tried the drink already? Love it? Hate it? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
